When times are tough and you don’t know what to do, you’ll hear a lot of people tell you that you should just search inside yourself because the answers are already within you.
But this would be a lie.
In the book “The Analects of Confucius,” Confucius says something really interesting. He says,
“I once did not eat all day and did not sleep all night in order to think, but there was no benefit. It would have been better to study.”
What this means is that the answers to life’s problems are not within us. They’re outside us.
They’re in books, mentors, articles, conferences, seminars and audios.
Individuals like Pablo Picasso, Sam Walton and Michael Jordan would not have been successful if they would have only sought out the knowledge and skills that were inside them.
Instead, the reason they were successful was because they had all sought out outside resources in order to learn the principles that made them a success.
